Scott DesPlanques

Historic Preservation Planner, City of St. Joseph, MO

I began working for the City of St. Joseph in November of 2004. My primary duties as the Historic Preservation Planner include researching and writing Section 106 reports insuring that the City complies with the Federal Laws including the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and its supporting regulations as outlined in 36CFR800. I act as the liaison between the public and the Landmark Commission by aiding the public with Certificate of Appropriateness applications and providing the commissioners with staff recommendations based on Zoning Code and Design Guidelines. There are other responsibilities as well, such as administering the Save Our Heritage Grant and Emergency Stabilization Grant programs and preparing annual CLG reports to the State Historic Preservation Office, etc.
