Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer, Illinois State Historic Preservation Office, Department of Natural Resources
1 Old State Capitol Plaza | Springfield, IL 62701
Carol Dyson leads the Illinois HistoricTax Incentives programs as a Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer. She enjoys dealing with a wide variety of projects ranging from the Geodesic Dome Home of Buckminster Fuller in Carbondale, to Wrigley Field renovations in Chicago. Previously Carol worked as a Federal Regional Deputy Historic Preservation Officer in Washington DC, and at a preservation architecture firm in Ohio. In her spare time, Carol is active in AIA and co-teaches a course on Preservation of the Recent Past at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Historic Preservation Program where she cheerfully tries to convince her students that the 1980s are already historic.
